We are writing to inform you of an incident that impacted our third-party email service.

On March 8, 2024, we learned that a malicious phishing email was sent to some of our users on our behalf with an offer for a Loyalty Program and mention of a national sporting goods retailer and golf manufacturer.

Please understand that TheStack will never request your personal information in response to an email.

If you received the email and have not opened it, we encourage you to permanently delete it, and please do not click any links or provide any information in response to the email received.

We deeply apologize for any inconvenience and concern this may cause you.

The events that have occurred do not automatically mean that you are a victim of identity theft. However, we encourage you to remain vigilant and to continually review your credit report, bank account activity, and bank statements for irregularities or unauthorized items, and to immediately report any unauthorized charges to your financial institution. If you entered your financial account information into the website in response to the malicious email and phishing attempt, we urge you to contact your financial institution to cancel the card used.

You should always be vigilant for any unsolicited communications asking for your personal information. Additionally, we recommend individuals who clicked on the malicious email link to initiate an antivirus system scan as a precaution to help ensure your computer or device has not been infected with malware as a result of this incident.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused. Thank you for your understanding and support.
